We had actually booked another Airbnb in the same town, and when we arrive that night at 9:30 the place was in terrible condition! I contacted Susan in an absolute panic, and she responded in less than five minutes! I explained our situation and ask if her place was available. She took care of it ASAP! We filled out paperwork on the way over there, they gave us the code and we were in the house in less than 30 minutes! I am so very grateful for her and her family for their understanding, and willingness to work at such a late hour! The house is absolutely incredible! The perfect place for our family to rest and reconnect! We will absolutely be recommending them to everyone we know!

Gorgeous, well-equipped home with such a fascinating history, located perfectly for visiting Mammoth Cave, the Bourbon Trail, Shakertown, and the rest of Central Kentucky. Loved the hot tub, gorgeous backyard, and beautifully decorated interior. The pro/con: the train is a freight line and it runs RIGHT in front of the house. The pro: my son and husband, who love trains, ran to watch every single one as it went by. The con: the crossing is ungated, so the trains do have to use their horns, including quite early in the morning. Luckily the hosts provide white noise machines and earplugs to help mitigate the sound. If you're a train lover, you're in luck! We'd happily stay here again when we're in the area, which is often (my family is from nearby).

Susan was a wonderful host and her home was beautiful with a historical charm (and spotless). We had a party of 8 and it left us more than enough room for privacy and socializing. We enjoyed the small (and large) touches that made this a special and unique stay. We all enjoyed the train more than I expected and spent a late night playing family games in the dining room. The girls all enjoyed the decor for social media worthy pictures and it was fun for us to be able to get ready together in the large master bedroom and bathroom with the cutest dressing area. Prime location for distilleries and a nice break from the crowds after a day at Keeneland. We hope to return again and be able to use the outdoor space as we just ran out of time. It made for wonderful memories for everyone and I thank Susan for that opportunity and her great hospitality.

We made such a great decision to stay at such a unique, well cared for, updated & beautiful home! We were there for our anniversary & they made a few sweet gestures to celebrate us. Well worth the experience vs. staying at a hotel. Hearing the sound of the trains was just a part of the experience! (But if you have small kiddos/babies that you don’t want waking/coming to you in the middle of the night because the train woke them…wait a few more years before you come to stay!) Our short trip didn’t leave us much time to check out the little town - we spent the full day we had at a bourbon distillery & downtown Danville (<15 minute drive away). We loved our stay and the owners were very communicative & helpful!
